My name is Sophie and my role at SEO Premier is Accounts Director which means my days generally include keeping the business afloat by organising our company finances and keeping the MD in check.
What’s your morning ritual to set you up for a productive day?
Coffee, gym, coffee… black coffee, long black, americano.. depending where I am in the world, all the same thing and all equally as important to make me function. I also like to get up to speed with world news so that I have a few controversial conversation starters to bring up in the office to get everybody chatting!
Your favourite thing about your job is…
The flexibility it has being able to work anywhere in the world and the global nature of our client base meaning we’ve had the opportunity to travel to the US, Australia, China, Hong Kong just to name a few. Even in the UK we’ve visited lovely places like Oxford and of course London, just to get out and see clients so that’s a great bonus.
Where do you want to be in five years?
Penthouse apartment in New York overlooking Central Park, getting wrapped up warm for another stroll down 5th Avenue… that would be nice. Maybe growing SEO Premier’s business portfolio by helping take our online retail clients to another level.
Outside of business and pleasure, I’d like to be married, (considering the MD has proposed 4 times during the 10 years we have been together) every time I ask the question ‘when?’ he gets down on one knee to keep me sweet for another 2 years!
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a killer week at work?
Head into town to a nice restaurant with good wine. I love eating new foods, fresh seafood, Japanese or whatever the local cuisine is where we’re staying. There’s no better way to start to the weekend than a nice meal out and indulging to reward yourself for the week just gone.
How did you get to where you are now at SEO Premier?
I spent a year apart from my partner who is the MD, whilst he set up the business in Australia. I was still working in the UK at the time as we had a mortgage to pay and it was a case of give it 12 months and see what happens. He seemed to be doing well so I quit my job and headed over to Australia to take the plunge with him and we’ve never looked back.
If you could have any other job what would it be?
A forensic pathologist. (Silent witness is a favourite of mine).
